30-Minute Hurricane Formation Experience

This experience provides an unforgettable opportunity to fly our 2-seat Hurricane, BE505, alongside Battle of Britain Hurricane veteran, R4118.

From the moment you arrive at our iconic, White Waltham base, you’ll be immersed in our Hurricane-formation experience.  You’ll have a chance to meet both pilots, and participate in our pre-flight formation brief, before strapping into BE505 for the flight of a lifetime.  With R4118 by you’ll side, the Hurricane pair will taxi to the active runway for departure, before taking off “in stream”.

During the flight, R4118 will position on your wing giving you the unique experience of being part of a Hurricane formation pair.  There will be ample time for you to savour the beauty of R4118 in her natural environment before she breaks away.  You’ll then be left to enjoy the tremendous manoeuvrability of BE505 with your pilot, and even take the controls yourself.  If aerobatics are your thing, there will be time for those too.

On returning to White Waltham, there will be ample opportunity to look around both aircraft, and get plenty of photographs.

Hurricane Heritage runs flight operations from the beautiful and historic White Waltham Airfield.

The airfield has a long and illustrious history, dating back to 1935 when the de Havilland family acquired the land and formed the de Havilland School of Flying. Home to the Air Transport Auxiliary during the war, it's now a friendly and active aerodrome with great facilities.
